(please feel free to ask for clarification if this is not clear)
**Made-to-Order Food:**
-
A flat fee of $35 will be charged, with no sales percentage required.
**Nonprofits, Community Outreach, Rescues, and Young Entrepreneurs:**
-
A flat fee of $20 will be assessed, with no sales percentage due.
**Non-Sales Vendors:**
-
The fee is set at $30.
**Methods of Payment**
Currently, we accept cash and Venmo for the payment of deposits.
**Vendor Requirements**
- All vendors bear the responsibility for obtaining the necessary permits and insurance.
- Food vendors must possess valid food handler certification and cottage licenses.
- Each vendor space must be equipped with a pop-up tent, umbrella, or canopy to participate in Winsel's Market.
- Vendors are required to use appropriate weights for their tents.
- Electricity will not be provided at any locations, and the use of generators is permitted only for made-to-order food vendors, with the vendor supplying the generator. A minimum cord length of 20 feet is required.
- Food and cottage vendors must ensure they have all necessary certifications, including cottage licensing and food handler/safety certification.
- Minors participating in Winsel's Market must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 years or older.
- As the market is conducted outdoors in Santee, vendors should prepare for potential heat and wind conditions. Shorter operating hours during the summer months are implemented to accommodate these factors.
- Dogs are permitted, provided they are leashed at all times and their safety is considered in relation to weather conditions. Vendors must clean up after their pets, ensuring that aggressive or excessively vocal animals are not present.
**Rules and Regulations**
- In accordance with store property regulations, the presence of birds on the property is strictly prohibited at all times.
- Due to regulations in Santee, vendors are not permitted to display signs beyond the confines of our property. We acknowledge this may be cumbersome, but we are committed to enhancing awareness and advertising for this event.
- Music is allowed within vendor booths; however, the volume should be maintained at a level that does not disturb neighboring vendors, shoppers, or animals on the premises.
- The restrooms are designated for vendor use only.
- After the store opens at 9 AM, parking will not be permitted in front of the store or in the propane area. Ample parking is available for both vendors and customers.
**Setup and Breakdown**
- Vendor setup will commence at 7 AM and no earlier. Vendors arriving before this time will cause traffic congestion on Woodside Avenue.
- The market opens for shopping at 9 AM; however, early shoppers may arrive due to the proximity of the swap meet. Consequently, all vendors must be fully prepared by 9 AM.
- Vendors are not permitted to begin packing or breaking down their setups before 2:30 PM (12:30 PM during summer hours). Canopies may remain in place until after closing time (3 PM or 1 PM during summer hours). This policy is in place to maximize shopping and sales opportunities for both vendors and customers, while also avoiding discouraging new shoppers.
Vendors without a parking space behind their booth must unload at their area, then immediately move their vehicle to a parking space before setting up.
- Upon conclusion of the market, vendors must ensure that their designated space is free of litter and debris. Any setup materials or equipment left behind will not be retained.
- Vendors are responsible for their complete setup, including canopies, tables, chairs, displays, and related materials.
- All vendors must be thoroughly packed up by 4 PM, as staff will not be able to depart until all vendors have vacated the property and all areas are cleared.
**Advertising**
We are committed to ongoing promotional efforts for this market and encourage vendors to engage in similar activities. We provide various social media links for vendors to tag us, and we are enthusiastic about sharing the profiles of our vendors and artists. A collective advertising effort will enhance visibility and success for all involved. Our mission at Winsel's is to foster community engagement while showcasing local art and businesses within San Diego.
Vendors are advised to remain vigilant against scammers. If any individual is found impersonating our market, please inform us immediately to prevent potential fraud.
